We can do our curiosity better.

There is nothing wrong with being curious… and asking someone “Where are you from?” usually comes from the best intentions.

But it can have the opposite impact to the intended one and turn into a #microaggression.

Why?

  • It reduces someone’s identity to group or a culture and that can trigger feelings of alienation.

  • It carries implicit assumptions about ethnicity and nationality and often, it translates into: You don’t seem to belong here.

We can do our curiosity better.

In this mini comic I’m showing 3 ways on how to stay curious and respectful.
