Learning & Development, Trends & Best Practices
Last week I had the pleasure to attend ABSL Wrocław HR CoP - L&D with LinkedIn meeting at GlobalLogic on Learning & Development, Trends & Best Practices.
As a trainer, learning experiences designer and a person deeply passionate about impactful and sustainable development solutions, I was intrigued by inputs of Artur Mastek, Marcin Chabowski, Magdalena Kapuścińska and Weronika Goliszewska on the future of L&D.
And one thing I've found missing (and on that below) 😉
In today’s carrousel you will find my 3 take-aways from the presentations, on the new trends in L&D.
How do those trends connect to DEI practices, from my point of view?
1️⃣ DEI practices, by promoting inclusive hiring practices that prioritize skills and competencies over traditional qualifications, expand access to opportunities for a more diverse workforce.
2️⃣ DEI education can leverage AI-powered tools to enhance learning experiences and promote personalized development for employees with specific needs which can increase accessibility and inclusivity of training and development programs.
3️⃣ AI 𝙘𝙖𝙣 help to some degree to identify and mitigate bias in decision-making processes, thereby promoting fairness and equity within the organization.
4️⃣ DEI education can play a crucial role in developing inclusive leadership skills that are essential for navigating diverse work environments like interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, empathy and compassion.
What I found lacking in the discussions during the meeting was a critical look at AI-powered tools, which, despite common assumptions, are not free from bias. Viewing these technologies through a DEI lens reveals numerous examples where they mirror the biases and limitations inherent in human cognition. It's essential to remain mindful of that.
How do you believe harnessing these trends in learning and development can advance DEI efforts toward establishing workplaces that are more accessible and inclusive?
