Did you know that women have been working symbolically for free for two weeks already, and will continue to do so until the end of the year?

Addressing the paygap is crucial 𝘢𝘯𝘥 it's also essential to consider the issue from an intersectional perspective. Neither all women nor all men are treated equally – race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation - matter in this discussion.

One of the characteristics that enormously influences pay gap is parental status: economist Jane Waldfogel’s research showed that 40-50% of the gender pay gap can be explained by the impact of parental and marital status on men’s and women’s earnings.

So today I’d like to share the findings of a study* on motherhood penalty and fatherhood bonus.

Additionally, in the carousel I am sharing three discoveries related to the intersectional analysis of the pay gap, that are less mentioned in the discussions but are indispensable in addressing the pay gap.
