de-biasing methods that work
I wonder if any of you participated in an unconscious gender bias workshop on the occasion of International Women’s Day?
These are very popular formats to tackle the topics of inequality. But what enduring impact do such interventions truly have?
Last Friday I’ve shared with the subscribers of my newsletter the results of a comprehensive meta-analysies of over 1000 studies on effectiveness of DEI trainings that show that unconscious bias trainings that are based on raising awareness, don’t work.
I also recommended 3 de-biasing techniques that I use, which increase the effectiveness of such trainings.
One of them is “flip it to test it”, brilliantly described by Kristen A. Pressner in her TEDx talk.
Inspired by this approach, some time ago I've created 25 Flip It To Test It Cards, which I use regularly during my workshops, to spark conversations on bias with a tool that can be applied on a daily basis in any situation.
If you're interested to get them, you can still sign up before Thursday and on March 14th, you'll receive your newsletter with seven Cards from my set, focused on gender bias, ready to print or use digitally:
