Microaggressions towards men

Today marks the International Men’s Day and it’s a good occasion to remind that patriarchy and traditional gender roles are harmful for all genders and men are not exempt from experiencing sexism and discrimination.

Due to societal norms, as little as a bit higher pitch of voice, choice of a T-shirt color or a hairstyle or showing an emotion, can be enough to question men's masculinity altogether.

From these subtle critiques of their appearance to backhanded compliments undermining their capabilities in parenting, communication, empathy, etc., men encounter microaggressions in various forms.

In today’s comic strip you’ll find some examples of microaggressions that are experienced by men.

It's crucial to recognize and address these issues as well because if we want to create a more inclusive society for everyone, it needs to involve men too, and not only in the role of allies.

What are your thoughts on promoting a different model of masculinity and redefining traditional gender roles to create more equitable and healthy work environments?
