Yesterday we celebrated the Human Rights Day – the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) that established for the first time a shared commitment for indivisible and inalienable rights of all humans.

Thinking about the 2023 theme: “Freedom, Equality and Justice for All” and looking at what’s happening in the world, what comes to my mind is a saying I’ve learned from Dr. Laura Wuensch:

𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙙𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙛𝙨

In the context of the UDHR, the gaps between intention and execution persists. Bridging them requires a collective effort. It calls for an unwavering commitment from individuals, #organizations, and societies at large. We need to make tangible steps towards a more #inclusive and equitable world.

This comes also through DEI work in our organizations, through policies that dismantle systemic barriers, through fostering environments where everyone feels valued and actively engages in dismantling #biases that persist in our #workplaces and societies.

We need to stand up for human rights, transform our thinking into actions, and ensure that they match the scale of our aspirations.
